Best file sharing software

File sharing includes distributing or providing file and folder access through digital media. It can be done in a number of ways, which include storage, transmission, centralised servers on computer networks and more.

The use of file sharing enables businesses to save documents, pictures, videos and other file types to a shared location for other members of the team to access.

There are two types of file sharing: peer-to-peer and file sync and sharing services. Peer-to-peer is based on application architecture, whilst file syncing is cloud-based and can be accessed using a website or mobile app like Dropbox and Google Drive.

Here is a list of the best file sharing software out now.

Users can share files of up to 100GB from any computer or mobile device, with the addition of unlimited file storage in the cloud.

Citrix ShareFile offers personal, team, business and virtual data room packages. The business package includes unlimited storage and up to 100GB file sharing at £80 a month.

Dropbox ensures there is a secure service for all users with the inclusion of remote wipe and account transfer in order to protect files when a device is lost or stolen.
